shortcuts in mac v10.4.5/ Archicad v 10

I cannot get command, option, control keys to register when I am trying to create a new shortcut.

you're clicking in the text field box in the top right before trying to assign your keys right?

Yes; but it just occured to me that I might have caps lock on, and that this could effect the commands…
