the green shaded floor is 12" wood decking flooring using slab tool. this 'green' floor level is 12" below the red dashed line.
i need to create an opening at the stairs.

Select the floor and click on an edge or node.
The pet palette will appear.
Select the "subtract" option and then click the node for the hole that you want to cut.
