that presents a problem then! is there any sort of a work around that i can do to make my plans usable? any kind of horizontal section or something?

The only disadvantage is that it is not live as SEO, so you will have to cut again if the cutting plane moves. If the objects are changed, no problem - the cutting plane stays where it was.

i've tried using a roof trim, and this is even worse. not only does it not update the plan, it also doesn't cut the slab at an angle.

what i'm looking for is 2 pieces of curtain wall, slanted out at 3 degrees and then intersecting at the corner. i can just about get away with it if i put the ends at the top point of the window (as it gets shorter as it goes along this isn't ideal) is ther a plugin that will deal with it or something? the other problem i'm having is that it's leaving green lines on the ends of the lines when i render it.
