strange behavior (bug?) with stairs

I'm facing this very peculiar problem:

a stair goes from story 3 to story 4 but needs to be visible on story 5 too. Visibility is set to "all relevant stories".

On the view the stair is NOT visible.

BUT when I plave the view on the layout, the stair magically appears!
Same thing when printing or saving to pdf, the stair magically appears...

screenshot of the view:

the same view on layout:

I have a similar problem where the stair is not visible in all views.

I have 3 stories the stairs bridge the 2nd storey and finish of the 3rd storey.

Any ideas?

Note this seems to have been resolved with AC17 hotfix 4. Stairs are set as view on all stories and storey sensitive.
