Although I understand the reasons for not being able to delete posts - shouldn't it be possible to either have a grace period or at least request deletion?
In the hardcore BBS days we could delete our posts if they were last on the thread. Which worked quite well as long as it wasn't a hot topic. You can still edit your posts at anytime, so replacing the contents with a request to delete should be actioned by community heroes / moderators @Barry Kelly , @Karl Ottenstein etc
