Archicad Template Types

Note

  • Starting with Archicad 28, the Built-in (OFFLINE) Template is a direct translation or copy of the International (INT) template, available in all regions. This means that unless you use a localized Online Template, you will be working with a template based on the global INT version, which may differ significantly from the templates used in previous versions in your region.
  • In markets where Online Templates are available, it is essential to use them for a more localized, market-specific solution. These templates are tailored to regional standards and workflows, ensuring your project aligns with local practices.
    • Regions with Online Templates (provided by Graphisoft or its partners):
AUS, AUT, BRA, CHE, CZE, FRA, GER, JPN, NED, NOR, NZE, POL, SWE, UKI, USA

In the New Project dialog, you can choose between two types of Graphisoft templates under the Create a New Project From > Template drop-down:

  1. The Built-in template, marked with a gear icon. This is the default template installed with Archicad.

  2. The new Online template, marked with a globe icon. This template is downloaded from an online repository, ensuring you always have access to the most up-to-date localized version.

    • When Archicad is online, these Online Templates automatically appear in the New Project dialog and are selected by default. Once downloaded, they are stored locally for offline use, but updates will only occur when Archicad reconnects to the internet.

    • A key advantage of Online Templates is that Graphisoft can update and improve templates independently of Archicad's release cycle, ensuring you work with the latest standards.
