Hotlinked files - problems with story heights

I am working on a development with various dwelling designs, having different story heights.

I have created a site layout .PLN into which I have placed each dwelling type as a hotlink

The problem is that because the story height of the site layout .PLN is not the same as some of the hotlinks - gaps appear in the walls as the first floors are raised to match that story height.

What's the best way around this problem?

Fix them in the 3D window. You should be able to move the hotlinked modules up and down as you would groups.

Most of the time, I assume a problem in ArchiCAD requires a complex solution.
