Not Updating Pens in Plotmaker

This is in addition to my previous post re: gray scale & more.

First I have changed a pen in my hatch in Archicad, and saved it, but when I open it in plotmaker it is updating the pen change. I have told it to update, and I have closed it and opened it again, and I am still getting no update. I deleted one of my views and imported it again and then it changed. Anyone know why?

Also;
When I am in plot maker, if i go under "all pens and colors" can't I just change all the pens I used there to black and the ones I want to be grey to grey? I use pens 1 through 9. I want 1-6 to be black and 7-9 to be grey, so that is what i tell them to do. It doesn't change the output.
If I save it and close it, all the pens in the dialogue box show up white, but they hold their pen weights that I assigned to them.

I thought doing this and plotting/printing it in grey scale would give me black lines and grey lines.
This is irritating me. Can anyone explain?

Also at this link in ArchiCAd help, it has some info, but I dont understand it.
Project attributes? Does any one know about this?

Yes. Just make sure in Options/Preferences/Drawing Attributes you have uniform pens & colors for drawings and book ticked (see attached)

Okay, I am answering my own questions, and I am doing it on here, so that if other peopel have these problems, they will have answers.

My pens were not updating in PM because my drawing had become unlinked, I relinked it in drawing usage in the navigator of PM.

I set all my pens that I want grey tobe grey in PM, and all that i want to be black to black in PM.
and used the same weights and numbers i used in archi cadd.
in drawing settings attributes updates and rules, , i went to custom, and i unchecked pens a colors to update.Then in attributes i made the colors black and grey. and TA DA! i have printing in grey and black like i want.
