what is the best way to see all elements on a certain story in 3D and only that story? (without making separate layers for each story)

Or just use the "light" marquee on the desired Story when selecting items to view.

You can in the beam settings change the priority so it is lower than the wals.
Or in the Layer Dialogue box you can change the number of the layer to something besides the number your walls are on.

When you do this, rememebr that the layer numbers are saved per layer combination. So change the number in each combination you want these things not cleaning up in, and UPDATE it.
