changing layers of a selection of various component types

If I select a variety of components (lines, text, and other objects) simultaneously, is there any way to change all of their layers in one move? Do I have to flip though the layer selection tab as many times as there different object types selected?

No, use the Edit Selection set in your info box. (Hammer tool) See attached

In a PC it is Ctrl+Shift+T.
