multistory hotlink

I have two separate files with different floor level heights. I want to link one file into the other as a module but the floor levels change when i put it into the document. the buidling on the right is the linked in module

i think because the story setting is based on the taller one , so the hotlinked module is placed in the same level as the taller building. you have the elevate the hotlinked module
