Archicad 29 is unusable due to Teamwork errors. Please review a measure to provide a partial refund of the Archicad 29 subscription fee.
Hello.
This is the first time in 14 years I have had such a terrible experience.
The client computers are Macs. The server is Windows 11.
The time servers are all identical, set to time.apple.com. (I even attempted to unify the time on the Windows server using the UTC method, but it was of no use.)
The error shown in the image below appears 3 to 4 times a day, causing about 30 minutes to an hour of work to vanish each time. I am suffering significant financial loss.
I converted from a perpetual license to a subscription and prepaid for 3 years.
The exact same issue occurs in SaaS as well. Only in version 29!
Graphisoft has completely failed with version 29.
What is even more despairing is that I have seen many reports of similar issues to mine in the community.
Yet, Graphisoft has absolutely no idea what the cause is.
I received a response telling me to clear the cache files and test again.
If the cache files are the problem, then why does version 28 work perfectly fine without issues?
Please take a look at what I have gone through over the past 2-3 days.

We see this error but vary vary rarely. We are all Mac based using both Archicad 28 and 29.
Once you’ve got a successful link and worked on an active file have you tried saving it out as a .pln so you have one up-to-date master, get everyone else to leave the project, remove it from the server and re-share it? It may be worth clearing your TW Data folder too but make sure everyone has sent changes and left the projects first. This almost always resolves these sorts of issues as it can be a database error. It seems to happen more to files that have been created in earlier versions and migrated.

There is also another post on here about teamwork being slow, just slightly further down the homepage than this one, which has the same error description and it suggests Turing off Private Relay if you have an iCloud + subscription. We don’t for our Macs but worth checking out if you are repeatedly seeing the error.

Thank you Lee Hankins
I have tried re-sharing the save file in Teamwork and having members re-join the shared project multiple times, but the problem reoccurs within 2 to 3 hours.
2D work is at least quick to recover, as I can simply copy and paste.
However, if synchronization fails while working on 3D models, Layouts, or View Maps, it leads to massive financial loss. Every day!

Today, I instructed my staff to abandon version 29 and use version 28 until version 30 is released. Graphisoft must take responsibility for making and selling a defective version 29. graphisoft must either provide a partial refund or extend my subscription by one additional year for the cost I have already paid.

My network, hardware, and software settings have remained unchanged for nearly three years. The only thing that has changed is the update from Archicad 28 to version 29. I am not using Private Relay either.

Were the affected files created in 28 or 29 or were they migrated from earlier versions? I’d try saving the affected files out at .pln and then re-share them to Teamwork.

The problem reoccurs even when I follow the method you mentioned. I have likely tried every solution available on the forums. I wrote this post today after enduring this situation for over two months. I experienced this issue two months ago during the early launch of version 29, and I assumed it would have been fixed after two updates, but the exact same problem persists. Graphisoft does not know the cause. I cannot even remember how many reports I have sent.

It’s got to be something to do with your setup or the files themselves. Like I say, we have 12 users working on Teamwork BIMcloud SAAS and previously prior to December 2024 we were using on premises BIMcloud and very rarely saw this error. Maybe once in a 12 month period. Therefore it can’t be a fault with Archicad or BIMcloud. It likely something your side causing a network issue. How reliable is your internet connection? Do you have any anti-virus that could be interfering with the BIMcloud connection?
