BCaaS, file server

With regular BIMcloud servers, I had been using corresponding file servers for storing hotlinks, PDFs, PMKs, and any file that needs to be dynamically linked to the bimserver file. Is there, or could there be, anything like that part-and-parcel with BIMcloud as a Server, or will I still need to set up and keep up a file server?

Hi Ignacio,

BIMcloud is currently not supporting file server features, and can handle Teamwork projects and libraries only. It is the same with BIMcloud as a Service.

If something like a related file server service could appear on occasion of BCaaS it would be very nice.

Because the beauty of BCaaS is that one doesn't need to worry about file servers, maintenance, VPNs, backups; it is immediately scaleable without any hardware limitation; no more “oh we need to restart”; etc.

But for anything but the simplest projects one will still need to go into a bit of all that for the file server only —which is not a killer, but it is still a pain. And when the third-party file server goes down, pretty much the whole functionality will go down with it.
