On AC27 Mac, can't edit custom field for dimension value if the drawing window is undocked. I click on the field but it just ignores my efforts. I dock the drawing window and everything works .

Some toggle like with Suspend Groups, or the Active Layer palette. Just suspend and unsuspend automatic drawing updates across the board, a level above each drawing’s automatic/manual update setttings.
