Connecting to remote BIM Server™ wireless versus hardwired?

Graphisoft Support has indicated connecting to remote BIM Server™ wireless versus hardwired is not a good idea.

Other AC (teamwork) users have indicated they do so regularly.

What are the various protocols AC users are using to connect to a remote BIM Server™ ?
