EDIT: might have solved it. I chose "upload"...didn't see the Import options which was hiding under "more...".
I downloaded the bimproject file and then imported it in the BS manager. I can see the file but it has a different icon and I can't join it. What am I doing wrong?

Even though I see you solved your problem, let me clear the difference between Upload and Import.
Upload: it is meant for files. While technically .BIMProject is a file, or a PLN is a file, they're handled differently in the Teamwork environment, and they can't be utilized perfectly if you only upload them.
Import: it is for BIMUsers, BIMProject files and similar. If you'd like to get your project back on a BIMcloud, this is the way.
Also, even if this was not part of the original question, I'd like to mention that if somebody would like to start a new Teamwork project and is not familiar with the process yet, uploading a PLN does not equal with sharing the project from Archicad.

I get that now. What I don't get is why "Import" is hidden behind "More"...it's not that the UI is cluttered.
