Unintended BIM Server Name Change (AC 14)

I was adjusting some of the dns records on my Mac OSX server, which is also my BIM Server. Knowing full well such changes could yield trouble, I checked all my network services as I went, and everything survived.

Everything except BIM Server. I forgot about it. It was set to name the BIM server according to the machine name. Hadn't fully appreciated that was a dynamic condition.

Anyway, the next time I opened a cached file I had previously joined, I was told server couldn't be found, and I would be working off-line. I checked the server, noticed the name change, and by redirecting BIM Server Manager to the new name, could once again interact with the server.

But I haven't been able to re-associate the cached file with the renamed server. I changed the server's name back to what it had been, by opting for custom server name, but that didn't solve the problem. It appears the cached file and the server associate themselves with each other based on a more complex, or at least different name (ip address never changed).

I haven't found any server troubleshooting tools within AC14, that would allow me to identify a new server and relink a cached file to its serve'd "master". Can someone show me a place under the hood to fix the problem?

I know I can cut and paste unsent changes by hand, but there are several files that are suffering in this way. Throwing a switch or something would be a lot easier.

I suggest the following options. Before trying those, save a pln from each affected projects from the most up to date client, to make it possible to re-share those if anything goes wrong.
1) Restore the previous DNS name of your server, and try to send and receive.
(In BIM Server Control Center keep the Server name on 'Use Computer's name' option)
2) Or, delete Connection.xml file and hopefully your client will find the server. You can find this file in the following location:
•Mac: /Users/[USERNAME]/Library/Application Support/Graphisoft/ConnectionInfo/14.0.0
•Windows Vista/7: [SYSTEM DISK]/Users/[USERNAME]/AppData/Local/Graphisoft/ConnectionInfo/14.0.0
•Windows XP: [SYSTEM DISK]/Documents and Settings/[USERNAME]/Application Data/Graphisoft/ConnectionInfo/14.0.0
3) If none of these helped: re-share the plns
