3d line drawings for hand rendering.

What is the best way to generate a 3D line drawing on a 24 x 36 paper for rendering by hand. I've tried sketch mode with pen and ink, and the hidden line mode with internal engine. Both of them are blurry when plotted and the hatch is a mass of dots rather than actual hatch. It looks OK from a distance but is poor when viewing up close.

another method while in the hidden line view in the 3d window is to use the 2d (flat) marquee and copy to the clipboard. This is fast and easy and you can then paste it into a detail window (or wherever) and keep it with the project.

I always liked this method since you can then add notes and have line weights in your drawing.
