I am trying to align glass block mat on a window and can't get it to line up right and tried using the align 3D texture but that doesn't seem to work either or I am not using it right.... can anyone help me?

G'day, Gerald

I am no expert but just finished a little glass block wall that fit to a "T"
I used the glassblock .TIF from the AC library as the texture. It did a nice transparency.
I started by sizing the texture ("OPTIONS", "Materials", "Edit texture")
to 8.25" to allow for a mortar joint (this is an exterior shower in a cottage)
When making the space for the wall, I knew that I needed a multiple of the 8.25" (you could argue that you need another 1/4" at the end too but...) so I made the wall that size & surrounded it with the supporting wood members.
Once I had it up in the 3D window. I made sure that I clicked on the bottom left hotspot of the wall as the origin of the texture.

Hope this helps,
Walter

Good description of sizing and aligning, Walter. 😉

Gerald's original post sounded like he was assigning glass block to the glazing of a window object. Object materials cannot be aligned dynamically by the user, but have to be aligned by the GDL of the object. If you were using a window, Gerald, is that because you wanted trim or some other window feature? If not, Walter's method should take care of things for you.
