Bump map reverses direction

Does anyone know how to correct the bump map in vertical siding so that slabs and walls will look aligned? In the attached image please note that the texture is aligned, but not the direction of the bump.

One of the surfaces is running the map "top down" instead of "top up."

The "CheapAndNasty™" solution is to re-skin the slab with a thin wall.

Don't mess with re-mapping the material.

Thanks for the C&N work around, why can't it just work the first time.

An aside; how did your installation go?.....must have worked as you're still alive!

It doesn't work because in cyber-space, everything has a handedness and a wrap-around. Sooner or later, a thing like a slab gets into negative territory and things go backwards. Archicad's sandwich material is a good example where there isn't quite enough nformation in thw GDL script to independently control mapping on all edges.

And even though it is an indulgence, attached is the latest Denver project that only cost me five stitches in the ball of the thumb (a good place to cut yourself - few nerves). That expanded metal can get razor sharp!

Another "Common Practice" (not considered C&N - or Q&D as we say here in the lower 48) is to run the walls by and put the slab inside. This also has the advantage that you (generally) don't have to do fancy tricks with SEOs to get stairwells to clean up.

If this feels just too much like balloon framing to you you can just pull the slab to the back of the sheathing and SEO it from the extended walls below.

Matthew, the balloon framing doesn't bother me as the wall / floor junction is covered up (refined) in section anyway and shown as intended in detail, whether balloon or platform framed. Your point about the stairwells, and where an interior balcony or loft occur is well made. I believe your approach is better and will put to use. Thank you and Dwight for the ideas.
