GDL cyclorama shading question

I've created a background cyclorama for a VR panorama using GDL, as in the GDL cookbook.

Here's my question: I can turn the shadow casting off in GDL, but is there any way I can reduce the basic shading effect on the cyclorama cylinder? It still shows light and dark depending on the direction of the sun, which pretty much gives the whole show away.

Shame on you.
You have had my book so long you are forgetting.

Oh shame on me.
The GDL Cyclorama calls a picture.
Can't make THAT "constant."
To get the constant thing to work, you must apply the material as a wall surface to a cylindric wall.

Actually, its worse than that. The book is great, but I'm not that keen on Lightworks. I'm using the old ArchiCAD rendering engine as a fast alpha channel tester. I'll do the serious rendering in Artlantis, which is where I really should be looking for an answer to the shading problem.

Has anyone tried the cyclorama built right into the lightworks archives?? Just noticed them there yesterday, and wondered how they called images...

Scenery elements cannot be used in Archicad.
Yet another thing waiting for a future implementation.
