If you're looking for help with certain functionality, you'll have to be more specific. If your plan is to use AC as a 2D drafting tool exclusively or primarily, you've got the wrong software. You'll need to clarify.

Don't knock 2D drafting! Sometimes it is necessary and more cost effective. Would ArchiRuler, an Archicad add-on, help this user?

You're missing the point. Of course we all do considerable 2D work in AC. The question came from a brand new AC-Talker and was not specific enough to respond to. ArchiRuler is a fine product as are all of Cigraph's add-ons. I use many of them but not AR. No reason--just haven't bought it. Though AC is not at all robust in the 2D department we've all found ways to get by. But if Michael is looking to get into AC and is coming in with a 2D mindset of experience, then he needs to know that AC is not that type of product.
