How do I make a light fixture glow?

I would like to make a light fixture I have created glow in the rendering. The light sources do not seem to exist as an actual object in the rendering. They only light the space around them..... Any tips or ideas?

What are you rendering in? If ArchiCAD, which rendering engine?

You can assign the default Glass Lamp material to the glowing part of the lamps (e.g. a bulb).

In scripting, the light source itself is invisible; you have to have something that will look like a light source besides the GDL scripted light emitor.

I am using Lightworks in Archicad. Ultimately I will be creating a walk-through and would like a couple of specific light fixtures to be "on". The client liked a few specific fixtures and I would like to highlight them a bit. Besides I spent the time building them.....
I'll try the Lamp material as suggested.
Thank you.

The lamp material can be improved by switching from "mirror" reflectance to "constant."
