Hi there,

Im needing some clear instructions on how to use a jpeg photo/image of a surface i have selected for my client to create a new surface in Archicad.

I'm needing to do a nice render but it needs to be fully customised as per my selected finishes. Can someone explain to me step by step how i import and create a new surface?

Thank you very much!!

Yes you can import a JPG as an image for a Surface.
The steps are in the link I already posted.

Yes your JPG image has to be part of the loaded library (or in the embedded library) so your surfaces can access it.
Then edit the image used in your Cinerender surface.
The problem is the image can be used in many channels and you can have layers in those channels that affect how that image looks.
I must admit I can struggle with some of the surfaces and all the settings.
I usually find one that is almost what I want and then try to make minor amendments.

If all the Cinerender settings are daunting and you really just want a basic JPG image in a material then you can set it up quite easily as an OpenGL or Internal Engine material.
Only a few settings to worry about with those.
Then in the Cinerender version of that material just use the "Match Settings" button and "Update Cinerender Settings (from Internal).
