As you can see in the model appearance settings, there are four to six visualization options for applying surface textures and colors; while the resulting output is interesting, it would often be ideal to combine both surface textures and surface colors. To achieve a high level of graphic representation for documenting detailed information and optimizing presentation formats, one could introduce a condition within the Graphic Overrides or add a setting option that allows the surface display to override the standard settings used in sections or elevations.

What new feature in 30 is this relating to?
If it is just a request, it should be in the main community forums.
Barry.

I have moved the topic into the Visualization forum.
Sunday
I would expand this to include some other important changes.
First and foremost, the entire Model Display should be moved to View Settings so the same viewpoint can be represented with different display settings. As it stands now you need a separate marker if you want show an elevation with different model display settings. That is wrong.
Secondly, we need all these options made available to 3D Documents. There is no built-in way to have a dimensioned, annotated 3D view that shows surfaces.
Not specific to this request, but closely related, is synchronizing cover fills (hatches) with surfaces (image textures) and proving better control over origin and orientation. This has been discussed at length elsewhere.
