Hello everyone

Well this is my first project, I am a student at Mohawk College in Ontario and I have just finished teaching myself some of the basics of archicad and artlantis.

Below are some links to the screenshots I have done, I am fairly pleased with the results and as I get more I will post them.

The house was a renovation project whereby we had to design a small addition as well as a new floorplan, the link above is the master bedroom which faces the back of the property.

Any critiques you can give would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time doing this and want to grow and expand my knowledge.

I am not super experienced but i would bring the camera back to the horizontal. Also the floor seems lit and very reflective and there are no lights yet. Obviously daylight conditions are not as dark in real life but for a first attempt it's very pleasing. Keep it up

Move your smoothing slider up on curved surfaces, such as the bed railing and the windows. Set your reflection limit on the floor to 3'. Do you have the radiosity on? Use either the neon glass shader, or the fresnel glass shader. If you have any lights inside, set them to contribute to radiosity. If you use the fresnel glazing on your windows make sure the sun color setting is on. More feedback can be found @ http://www.abvent.com/support/forum/

Hi Kyle,

I'm just curious, does Mohawk College teach ArchiCAD as part of their curriculum, or are you learning on your own?
Most of the companies I’ve worked for here have always had problems finding new grads who know AC and gradually shift to AutoCAD because of it, it would be good if some schools here would be teaching it..
