Go to; Options menu > Materials. Note where is says surface color, double click on the colored square. This will bring up a pallete that will allow you to change the color.

Take the kid and wife or not, but sheesh, you're talking about a really small amount of money for what you will be getting that will pay off big time, starting the morning you return to work afterwards.
And if you take the wife, I somehow think she'll manage to take care of the kid while you're in class ;-> Virtually all hotels at least keep lists of local babysitters, too, even if they're too small to have childcare onsite.
Or if you don't want to go away for the weekend, then at least contact your local reseller and find out when their regular training classes are scheduled, and then take them.
