Problem with rendering

Hi people!
I'm new here

So, I've got a few issues and I need some help.
I found a great site for downloading objects and textures; http://www.archibaseplanet.com/
But when I'm rendering pictures with objects they sometimes just get grey. This is often with pretty advanced objects like humans with skin, hari, clothes... or flowers etc...

What am I missing here?

As you can see here on the picture, both the woman and the flowers are grey. I can't figure out why!
Hope someone out there can give me a hand

I think you confused your Death's.

Terry Pratchett's is a he, skeleton and SPEAKS IN ALL CAPS.

Neil Gaiman's is a girl
___

Reeves, check that the material (and associated texture) specified by the object is in the library and/or check the material override settings.

Try looking through this thread -

I think the problem stems from the materials not being defined correctly in the converted library part.

Whether Archibase realise this or not I don't know, as it seems pretty pointless to claim to provide GDL versions that clearly don't work properly.

I am not impressed by the quallity ov the objects from this site either. They claim to offer gdl models while in fact these are converted 3ds models.

1. You have to check "Use objects Materials"!
2. Assign materials to the ones, showing General"!
3. As Eduardo pointed out, check if you have all the necessary maps and materials in the loaded library!

Thanks for the quick help guys!
I still havn't fixed the problem, but I'll keep on trying 😉
The deadline of my project was friday so I made up a crise solution 😉

But you don't like the site. Do you have any other good sites for
downloading intellegent objects and textures to ArchiCad?

Have a look at objectstop.com
However due to the time that goes into GDL, most of our products are not free. In saying that, they are all well priced for quality parametric models.

I don't get this..

I'm pretty shure I've got the library part fine.
I'm in the Library Manager, loading my library.

When the object is loaded, the materials don't aprear in the parameters.
A couple of times it've worked, then I see all the materials listed there.
But now it's not.

"Use Object's Materials" is check'd.
Use AC Material is not check'd.

And the material is set to "general".

ArchiCad clearly don't find the materials in the library, but why?
The library I'm trying with now, has only onw object, so there's no duplicates or such. Is it the name of the materials?
I havn't changed them.

I also read somewhere that I had to download a "goodie" named "3D Studio in". I didn't really get what this was, but I downloaded it and put it in the add-on's folder.

Anyone know whay I'm missing here?
I've downloaded lots of objects, and this happed with almost everyone of them.
