Scale problem when importing into max

Anonymous
Not applicable
I cant get the scale right when importing into max. When it comes into max its way out of scale (too Small). I don't know the scale factor in the Archicad 3DS export options to scale by. If the archicad file is correct inside archicad, shouldn't it come in the same size in max??? Any help would be appreciated.

When you save out to max, you should use a scale factor of 1000. Then it should work ok in Max.

Cheers.

Depends on the unit settings.

When you export to 3DS, the export engine is asking you what are the ArchiCAD units used.

Then, when opening the file, you should also set the same units; it should work.

Max has system units settings (telling what realworld size one unit is) and display settings (meaning, in which units to display readouts). The last option might mean that you "read" inches and the model uses "meters".

I always export from ArchiCAD using drawing unit = 1000 mm.
