Shadow of trees

We want to show the shadow of trees on a site

I managed to turn on the shadow of a tree in 3d view, top view but only see the branches

As shadows.

How so iseeget it too show proper shadows of trees  (more solid shadow)

I played around with density of leafs but no change

What object are you using?

The script for the trees probably has deliberately turned off the shadow for the leaves, because there are so many.

Each leaf would be casting shadows onto the other leaves as well as the branches, ground and walls and any other elements.

It might bring your 3D view to a crawl if the leaves have shadows.

… so it is time to get better trees and plants in Archicad without causing polygon overkill that struggles down every computer. It‘s tiring to treat elevations separately from groundflooring/ layout to get acceptable results in design and datasize.

This is expected behaviour with trees from the built-in library. As Barry said, it would require too much calculation (with the current engines) when navigating around in 3D view.

You will, however, see full shadows when you render the view.
