bitmap / knock out / picture objects render white

When rendering in the lightworks engine the picture objects render as white or very very light color. I have tried turning the sun down and moving it but that doesn't help. I have turned off reflectance and smooth and that only helps a little. I can render with another engine but it is slow and doesn't look the way I want it too.
Any ideas?
Ignore the yellow thats for easy removal in photoshop.
