making glass transparent

How do I set the glass to be transparent in the 3d shading.
I'm using a standard AC 10 library part - the 4 panel sliding glass door.
I notice in my old smart parts real windows and doors there is a setting under parameters - 3d features that turns solid glass off. I can not find a like setting in the AC10 door.

I'm running ac10 on a powermac 2 x 2.66 dual core intel

I don't know what you mean by 3D 'shading'. The mechanism differs depending on where you are not seeing transparency.

Do you mean the OpenGL 3D window?

Rendering?

Section/elevation?

Using perspective setting I have created a perspective - then under View -
3D view mode - I have selected Shading

Internal 3d engine is checked

I got it -

For the door - under model I needed to select " use objects materials"

That made it transparent - evidently the default material is not glass

Sure is nice to get help on a Saturday !

If you have not already done this.
One more thing you might want to consider.
In my opinion, the stock "glass" is kinda deadsville.
Look under: Options>Element Attributes>Materials.
Make a copy of the stock glass.
Name it whatever.
Change the color to something you like.
Start with Transmittance around say roughly 30%
I like the soft blue hue reflections you would get on a clear day, also contrasts nicely with warm tones on exterior walls.
