We're just starting to play with proper rendering in AC10.
The lighting looks terrible. Any tips on getting more realistic lighting? The lights available in the library seem very limited.
TIA

That's right - realistic sun - but when you look for a bug, you need to look in a crack.
The rough displacement seems to modulate glaring reflectivity and extremes of oblique lighting.
Matte is just a way of supressing specular reflection.

I'll bet that they tweaked the blending formula to exagerrate the ambient contribution and when you use a high setting it goes around the block into the wierd zone.
