rendering with large amounts of lighting

Hi

This is my first post as I am a brand new user!

I desperately need some help regarding light works rendering engine.

I am using Archicad 13 on a 15" Macbook Pro with a 2.53 GHz intel core 2 duo processor and a recent upgrade of 8GB RAM.

However, even with an increase in RAM I am still getting 'memory error' messages and have tried a lot of adjustments regarding dpi, light settings and the sun.

Where am I going wrong? Any help would greatly be appreciated

Thanks

It is easy to overturn a mis-steered Archicad Lightworks PickUp Truck into the wide, deep and down-sucking mud-filled ditch of Memory Error in the middle of a moonless light during a snowstorm where vampires and werewolves roam, seeking to inhale the blood of innocents like yourself. Or i am watching too much television.

You most likely have a corrupted element if you still get errors with a small rendering - like 500 pixels, say. Systematically eliminate layers and areas until you find the culprit.

On the other hand, you can also drive Archicad into the ditch with:

— too many polygons [a forest of 3D trees, for instance]

— high sampling with 'realistic' [so-called] lighting [over 64]

Try a rendering with Sun Class Sun Shader to eliminate the ray tracing......

Hi Dwight

Thanks for your reply.

I definitely think I have steered lightworks into a dark ditch somewhere!

But my Masters degree depends on this so I really need to find civilisation!

I have already eliminated two degenerated polygons but I have a lot of seating which is required and I'm contemplating rendering that separate to the building.

How would I find the sun class shader to eliminate ray tracing? Sorry I'm quite new to the software. Would that be selecting sun rather then realistic sun?

What would be the best way to reduce the amount of polygons?

Thanks again

Try that first.

Is it abnormal to still get the degenerated polygon error even after deleting it?
