Clients and stakeholders may have trouble of understanding volumes, spaces and design intent using 2D views.
Stun your clients with professional design presentation. BIMx enhances collaboration via visualization. It provides game-like navigation that needs only a little learning. Let's see what's new that Archicad 25 brings to BIMx.
Enable unlimited 3D model size, and some PRO features for free
Opening complex 3D models on Android devices was not available until Archicad 25.
The Android BIMx update this July brings a new 3D engine which lets architects and their clients open the full content of a Hyper-model. The highlight of this new engine is the technology of Data Streaming, which eliminates model size limitations on mobile devices. Previously, opening large and complex files was dependent on the hardware specifications of your device. Now with Data Streaming technology 3D models can be opened regardless of the size and complexity.
The new 3D engine also comes with new rendering technology which significantly reduces the exporting time of 3D models. Publishing the Hyper-model doesn't need Global Illumination now. All supported mobile applications use an on-the-fly rendering algorithm instead, called Ambient Occlusion.
BIMx will also be available for Android devices without Google services. The experimental version, BIMx Lab, is already available in Huawei App Gallery in China.
Continuous development of our visualization capabilities helps us respond to user demand quickly while staying ahead of market trends. Large 3D model support for Android users and availability in the Huawei App Gallery in addition to Google Play and Apple App Store now makes BIMx the great presentation tool of choice on all platforms.
BIMx Web Viewer technology implemented in the Desktop Viewer
The BIMx Desktop Viewer user experience (UX) was behind the UX of the BIMx mobile application and web applications, as the legacy desktop application could open only 3D models. The next-generation BIMx Desktop Viewer is now part of the Archicad package!
The renewed BIMx Desktop Viewer lets architects and their clients access the full content of a Hyper-model, including 3D models, documentation and any embedded BIM data. For example, you can open Markers in 3D that links 2D drawings, or Hyperlink in schedules to open selected elements in 3D, and many more.
BIMx Desktop Viewer is available on both macOS and Windows. It also supports touch screens, game controllers and SpaceMouse devices that helps anyone explore the BIM model and understand project deliverables.
We know that not everyone enjoys viewing a BIMx Hyper-model on a small, handheld device. With the enhancement of BIMx Desktop Viewer, users can open the full content of the Hyper-model on desktop and laptop as well.
