Dual screens with instant updating

Ingolf

My wish is to have dual screens with instant updating in Archicad. As far as I understand I have to click on the window on the other screen to update it. It would have been smoother to have an imediate update. As soon as I alter something in the plan view, it will automatically change in the 3D window and section/elevation.

Hi @Erik Bjornhage

As I said, it may simply not be a priority at the moment.

I understand that in your workflow, this functionality may not add much, but that’s not necessarily the case for everyone. If it were, it would be irrelevant to request it, and yet here we are discussing it. Archicad is an extremely comprehensive software; we can accomplish a lot with everything at our disposal. We learn to deal with many things and we create a lot of workarounds, but is it enough?

I agree with you that there are other features that could boost productivity more than multiple screens, but seeing this put on hold is quite frustrating, especially after the release of AC 28 and the priorities chosen for this version. I’d trade almost any of those features for dual-screen support.

I'm not saying it wouldn't improve my workflow, I'm sure it would help a lot.

But there are other things that would be more valuable. I definitely understand the want/need for it...but for now I'd rather see improvements in other areas that would help the information delivery and the model based information.

Yep - on this we can definitely agree.

I have had a bad day with this shortcoming in Archicad 27 and 28

I am working on exiting drawings vs new changes

I need to  see multiple monitors or a monitor that is 3 monitors wide with different views of the drawings.

I am moving and constantly going back and forth between view to manually coordinate

The only solution I have is to create a repeated models with repeating pdf files to make this work easily

Multiple monitors makes this issue go away.  I have been using Quad monitors for 40+ years

have a new Mac with 4 Monitors but a software package that see no reason to compete and become relevant in the U.S.

Please do not go backward - please go forward.

Bumping this thread. Insane it's been put on hold and removed from the road map; how lazy.

I am also a user of Microstation - a great software but also not perfect.   This feature was available from the start.  Dual Monitors with 4 views each.  Use the feature on every plan, Building Section, Model site work. and almost every drawing.  invaluable but available in 1980's.

It's honestly frustrating to see how Graphisoft has been handling the software. It's ridiculous and a bit absurd that in 2025 we're still having to talk about dual screen compatibility.

There is only one solution and can bee seen in other products such as AECOSim  and Bentley in1989

2-4 Monitors connected t a PC

Each can show 1-4 views

They are all live showing the same data

LIVE NOT STATIC

No lag on a OPC back in the late 80's

The Triforma version  does everything we do now in Archicad with 2 screen and 16 views, Views can be 2d to rendering .

Graphisoft is Just as capable but don't appear to be looking at market growth.  As if they have bowed down to Revit.

T bet Revit you need to be better than hem and other companies like Bentley.

Sad to see that this is still not possible. Would speed up my Workflow a lot...

I will pray for AC29 and the Dual Screen multi view interface

Archicad seems to want to religate itseldf to the bottom rung.  Autodesk has played nicely so far but it won't be long before Archicad is squashed.

It feels if Graphisoft is wanting to die on the vine.  I dont see it lasting more than 10 years more
