I woull propose an entirely reconfigurable Project ap, View Map etc. This very simple and straightforward system of creating sheets with drawings still seems to be problematic for a lot of users to understand, and I can only see that as a failure of the UI to make clear the relationship of the Project Map, view Map and Sheets.
Related, but can we also add the ability to define View Settings to regular folders within the View Map, not just Clone Folders? As it stands, we have to choose between scrolling through Clone Folders that eventually contain dozens of unrelated views, or having to remember to apply settings individually to each new view added to the View Map. It would be great if the workflow could look like this:
Create your new view, whether by duplicating an existing marker or creating a new one from a favorite.
In the Organizer, drag the new view from the Project Map over into the appropriate folder in the View Map, which has View Settings applied and which is specific to a particular drawing (Wall Sections for example).
That's it - proceed as one normally would. Saving the view is an extra step, but I think it would result in a much more organized and easy to digest View Map. Plus, it would just be an option, so firms could decide for themselves what they want to prioritize.
Maybe some unnecessary background:
As a firm, we have defaulted to using Clone Folders, because it removes additional settings a user has to remember to apply to each view, but the reliance on naming conventions to organize the content within each Clone Folder has led to some errors. For example, it's not always been the case that Archicad correctly sequences the name of new view (BS004 Building Section to BS005 Building Section for example), so I've audited some projects where I get into the project map and see that the last 20 sections created, for example, are all titled the same thing.
@Brandon-W_DWa Yes - the inability to properly and consistently set higher level settings is, be it for viewmap items, attributes, or element types, really is beyond belief. A related wish is Automatic Name and ID for Folder Items
