Layouts // Each Layout should be able to save it's Pen-Set

Right now, the Layouts are not saving any Pen Information and you need to fix the Pen you have selected at the moment manually to get the right publishing results for all alements drwan directly in the LAyout. The Elements vontained in Drawings use the Pen-Set saved with the View.

It's necessary to have the possibility to save the Pen directly with the Layout to avoid problems with the representation.

The entire layout book itself can have only one pen set and layer combination active.

This affects anything you manually draw in the layouts (text, lines, etc.).

The views you create have there own pen set that you see when you open that view.

When you place that view as a drawing in the layout, you can use the "By view" pen set - where is will use the pen set saved with that view.

Or it can be set to use any other pen set that you have created in that file.

So you can change the entire layout page or layout book all at once, but you can control the pen set of each placed drawing.

Does this give you the control you are looking for?

Barry.

Thank you for your comment.

I'm aware of the current workflow, but it implies that you should never draw anything in a Layout because control over its representation is not guaranteed in a teamwork file, as any user can change the selected pen set. I try to ensure that nothing in the office is drawn in Layouts, but it's difficult to control in a large office.

The way it currently works is prone to producing mistakes (and it does happen sometimes).

At the very least, it would be beneficial to be able to "Save" the pen set you use for the entire Layout Book (this would be the first step in the right direction). Right now, you just need to change it at the bottom, and it's done, which can happen too easily.

Thanks

Gabriel
