My experience is the same as Gabriel's. I occasionally find layout pen settings and I don't know why, and there's no way to "lock" the selection in. I change it back and hope its in the right setting when someone in the office who assumes the setting...

This is a good wish. I think an audible notification is available, but only if all other ArchiCAD sounds are turned on, which no one would want. A visual indicator, such as flashing toolbar, could be sustained, unlike a sound.
