Opening Tool as Standard Wall Penetration Tool

Hi all,

Wouldn't it be nice if doors, windows and curtain walls all lived within the Opening Tool?


If you want to use the Curtain Wall Tool to create a custom window, it will automatically cut the bounding wall by the defined boundary.

If you want to demolish a window while retaining the penetration, the opening would be retained as existing.

If you want to change your floor to ceiling window into a sliding door, there's no need to delete and change tool.

If you want to put a window at your stair landing between stories cutting multiple walls, there is no need for additional faux openings.

  I wish I can upload video to describe better my struggles 😞 It’s really not working properly on my end - whether it is slab or walls (especially had issue with vertical walls) And I followed all the manuals in YouTube  I have seen . I have MacBook, I wonder maybe it’s not even working properly for MacBooks . I also tried magic wand and doesn’t work per either . 

and I think this tool should be more intuitive. Same with modeling furniture. They introduced some tool last year for making furniture in easy way and little did I know it’s going to be of course very un intuitive tool. To me it was waste of money to create tool like that and still make it beyond complicated.

It looks like you can not attach files to wishes.

But you could create a post in the modelling forum to discuss your issues with openings, where you can attach a movie file (under 75MB).
