Provide consistent controls for fill area text backgrounds

Paul King

Currently, if a fill is set to display the fill area, the area text properties omits the standard text frame / opaque background offset parameter applying to other ArchiCAD text.

This prevents graphically important clear space displaying around the area text in the way that it does for all other text, and means that text characters with descenders (such as lower-case g) actually extends through the frame or across the edge of the opaque background.

A work-around if you want one is to use an auto text label.

You can use auto text for the 'area' together with the other text and you can adjust the frame offset.

As an added bonus it is stretchy so you can adjust the multiple lines easily.

Thanks Barry - that is a good workaround, though I would argue should not be necessary - I think the fill area text dialog should be consistent with all other text dialogs

Yes, I will agree with you.

It is actually the dimension text options you see for the fill text, so dimensions would also benefit from this change.

There should be consistency across all text elements when it comes to formatting.

It is better than it was but there are still inconsistencies like this one.
