Set Surface Origin Individually in Complex Profile Walls

In complex profile walls, it is currently not possible to define a separate origin for each surface.

Being able to control the surface origin individually for each face would make it much easier to accurately align textures and materials.

Ideally, this could be implemented either within the complex profile settings or through an editing interface similar to those used for stairs, railings, and curtain walls.

@JokeSwinnen can you give an example of what this would be useful for? Would the profile then have multiple reference lines? When you say "being able to control the surface origin individually", are you suggesting you want the ability, in model space, to move complex profile surfaces relative to one another (in the same profile - like offset modifiers)? Or just use them to align to other elements?

@NateLumen

Thanks for your question!

A typical use case would be when working on façades that use different types of brick or materials. In those situations, we often need precise control over how the 3D texture is aligned.

What I’m looking for is the ability to adjust the surface origin so that we can use the Align 3D Texture function more effectively for each individual surface.

So it’s not about modifying the geometry of the complex profile itself (like offsetting surfaces relative to each other), but rather about having better control over how textures are positioned and aligned on each surface.

The topic of control of textures in 3D has been brought up so many times... Hope this time they pick it up. The lack of control is ridiculous.

@JokeSwinnen Ah, gotcha. I missed that it was about the *surface* origin, not the origin point of the profile itself. Yes, this makes a lot of sense. Upvoting.
