(GDL) Dimensioning a custom door

I am working on a clinic that has a special sliding sealing door that i only found in revit format. I edited the imported object to make it look as i wanted in 2d, added wallhole and wallhole2 to shape out the real cutout in the wall, but for the love of god can't make the dimension tool to show my wallhole height. I don't even know what to do, as i have very limited GDL knowledge. After a few days of frustration reading the GDL documentation and trial and error, you guys are my only hope.

PS: I can't stress enough how important it is for GS to deliver a tool for true parametric library objects, this GDL stuff is so 1980.

I'm not sure I am remembering this all clearly but if you have created your own wallhole then you need to add hotspots to it for it to be automatically dimensioned. When you rely on the automated wallhole I don't think you need to add the hotspots for the dimensions to work.

I have never brought a Revit door family element into Archicad so I cannot be sure of the result, but I have built Revit door families and I know the end result would be very poor in comparison to a parametric Archicad object. If you want the best Archicad object for doors and windows that can mimic any real life configuration then you should check out our Infinite Opening tool: https://cadswift.com.au/products/Infinite-Openings.html

Cheers for the reply. Apparently i forgot to state that i added both hotspot and hotspot2 commands for each side, to no avail.

This is the door i'm trying to replicate. Can your tool do this?

Ok well at least you have been thorough, I will see what I have done to get the wallhole dimension.

Yes our door tool can easily do the configuration you are after and to the precise detail if you need it. We have cavity and face sliding doors with any number of moveable and fixed panels, We also have a component called the "Headtrack" for the face sliders. You can control the profiles and styles of all components  including adding the view panel to the door.

This is an image of one of our default configurations of the face slider.

To replicate your door you would only need to change the reveal detail, the door panel style, and the headtrack profile. For someone familiar with our Infinite Openings tool this would take about 4 minutes, for and expert user this would take less then a minute as they would have all their styles and profiles ready to apply in the catalogue feature.

Here is some help about automatic dimensioning: https://gdl.Graphisoft.com/tips-and-tricks/nominal-sizes-automatic-dimensioning
