Archicad C++ API
About Archicad add-on development using the C++ API.

alternate to the internal elevation tool?

Hi I am wondering is this is something that could be achieved with an API add-on.

Select a section/elevation line on plan and automatically extend it to the boundary of a (selected) zone (or zone boundary). Maybe even give the section the elevation parameters of the zone and automatically place the other elevations lines

I do all my internal elevations with individual sections and thought this could be a useful tool.

It seems like something that COULD be done. The hard part would be getting someone to pull it off. The API can be a little..... limiting at times,

I know it is a bit limited, but does the existing "Interior Elevation" tool help you at all?

personaly I have never tried to develop any APIs but to me that sounds like a good idea to use the interior elevations as a guide

Sounds like a good idea, John. The Interior Elevation Tool itself is too limited (not "live" being the biggest thing) ... so automatic placement of sections for a live interior elevation would be nice.

Seems pretty straightforward. The geometry of the selected zone can be read by an add-on, and the selected sections could have their extents (end points, top and bottom elevations and depth) appropriately modified.

I'm a little busy for the next month, or I'd look at it more right now...
