In this Archicad Tip, we show you how to remove unwanted triangulation edges from imported models.

Very slick! Good tips!

Excellent advice. But what to do if the value in the 3D code is not -1, 0 but -1, 2? The algorithm shown does not work

Hi @nbeyner, thanks for your comment, you are correct. Depending on the source of the model and how the mesh was defined, you may find different edge codes.

I have made a follow up video, covering the case you mention, with a very similar workflow.

Hope it helps!

How can I add 1000 votes for this "Best Tip" of them all so far?

This is brilliant! BEST advice! Thanks. Maybe you know a way to make a 2D symbol so that graphic replacements affect it? Is it possible?

Hi @nbeyner, with the previous settings using "project2 3, 270, 3" Graphical overrides will work when using Drafting Fills override: Screenshot 2024-11-30 at 15.22.22.png

To get the projected fills to react to cover fills overrides: Screenshot 2024-11-30 at 15.22.28.png just use the following settings in the project command :

project2{3} 3, 270, 1027, 12

The result without overrides is the same, but in this configuration the objects is reactive to cover fills overrides. See video below:

Thank you! You have model contours on 2D. I have no lines with the described algorithm. Does this depend on the original model or can it be controlled?09.jpg
