The 3D Model Switch feature is available in BIMx Mobile, Web and Desktop as of the 18th of April, 2024. It enhances the model comparison user experience for architects, designers, and collaborators in Hyper-models including multiple 3D views. This feature facilitates smooth, in-context transitions between 3D models created for different purposes.

Enhanced support for View Options

The 3D Model Switch lets users benefit from enhanced support for Design Options:

Furthermore, this new method to open another model provides in-context transition between 3D Views saved with different Layer Combinations, Renovation Filters, Structure Displays, MVOs, and Graphic Overrides, easing model comparison.

Note:

To use the feature, make sure BIMx's Publisher Set includes multiple 3D Views. Read more in Archicad Help

Consistent Visualization Experience

One of the key benefits of the 3D Model Switch feature is its ability to maintain consistency in visualization settings across different models. Users can preserve their current camera position, sun settings, shading option, field of view, and cut plane, while transitioning between models.

Streamlined Navigation

The introduction of a new navigation shortcut further enhances the user experience by streamlining the comparison of models while staying in the virtual space without the need to open the list of publisher items in the Hyper-model index.

Get the latest BIMx Mobile app from the Apple App Store, or from Google Play, BIMx Desktop from the Apple App Store, or from Microsoft Store, and visit BIMx Model Transfer for the Web version.
