IFC Mapping - Building Material Custom Properties and Classifications

Its been years since i dug into IFC mapping.... and it was way before Building Materials came on-line
It looks like in V25 that the default IFC mapping does not pick up properties or classifications assigned to Building Materials. I assume it is possible to map this information into the IFC export.
Am I correct in thinking this?
