Database commit error? All I am trying to do is create new view--turning off and on layers and dragging the new view into project map. No worksheets, no xrefs at all. Working in build 3636 win 64, win 32 on server.

Hi Gary,

The way you described creating your view is not good practice, and might be the cause of the problem. If you just turn on/off layers, you create a view with the layer combination of "Custom" which is difficult to impossible to ever error-check, particularly using a view index (you would see a lot of 'custom' and not know if any of them were the correct layers).

Ideally, you should create a layer combination corresponding to those on/off layers and associate that with your view.

Assuming you have server rights to create new views, I'm not sure why you would see the commit error. Hopefully somebody else has an idea on that.

Cheers,
Karl
