*.3ds imported object doesn't match its bounding box

Hi everyone,

i'd greatly appreciate some insight on a problem i'm encountering:

When importing an object I created in another 3D Software (or any 3ds objects, for that matter), the bounding box that is created automatically doesn't match the geometry outline of the object itself. (image1)

Yet the dimensions I set when importing the object are correctly applied. (image1.1)

I tried importing the *.3ds object using the interoperability tools "3DS to GDL" with these settings: (image2,image3)

Does anyone know what could cause this mismatch of the bounding box and object geometry?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards.

Hi Cris,

This is most likely a bug in the 3DS import. Looking into to code it seems that it doesn't add that info properly, so it isn't much you can do.

Please report this through Technical Support.

Best, Akos
