Interesting. All Hungarian by the looks of it. I assume it's something started by some ex-GS folks. I'm curious if it really is competitive with ArchiCAD or if it just has some of our wishlist items while falling short in other areas.

... Palm engineers gave us Handspring which then swallowed back Palm (for those 'old' enough to remember)
Lightwave engineers gave us Modo - let's see what happens but it is an absolute trailblazer compared to the aging LW

Pretty sleek.

Looks like someone (or some ones) not called a GS developer has been spending a lot of time in Graphisoft Wishlist forums. And taking notes.

I especially like just how intuitive and simplified their 3D free-form object creation workflow is. No fuss, no complicated work-arounds.

Well, considering that it's ex-GS employees, at least we know that that kind of thinking and software development is possible from an someone with GS background and from a GS environment.
Let's just hope they didn't take all the creativity and ingenuity with them when they left to develop Archline XP.

Yes, as far as I know from people at GS, the development of ArchLine.XP has been started by ex-GS employees.
Cannot comment on the product though, I am not familiar with it at all.

There are a few clunky steps in there - particularly drawing the 'tent' object which you then apply to the splines. Why not a simple extrusion with some control over the transition between the two - e.g straight 100% tension or <100% gives you some sag (membrane effect).

NURBS tools are pretty well established in major 3D applications like Max, C4D and Rhino and all behave fairly similarly. Why do architectural applications need to reinvent the wheel here? Their UI's during element creation always feel so kludgey.

Behind the UI though (which can be fixed?) I think there is some good stuff going on there. Perhaps Graphisoft needs to entice them back...
